Lee Siu Kei's funeral to be held next month
27 Jun – Hong Kong preacher Peter Chan recently revealed that the funeral for good friend and actor Lee Siu Kei will be held next month.
As reported on Sina, Peter, who has been actively involved in the arrangements, share that the funeral will take place at the Diamond Hill parlour on either 5 or 9 July, and that it will be a Christian ceremony.
"We couldn't confirm the date for now since we have to accommodate the cremation first," he said.
Peter also stated that the family is thankful for all the prayers and good thoughts sent their way.
"His family had actually been mentally prepared when he started to get ill. His wife is doing much better now. I hope that a lot of his friends would pay respect at the funeral," he said.
When mentioned that Hong Kong Performing Artist Guild president Louis Koo wanted to help with the funeral arrangements, Peter said that everything has already been prepared.
"I thank him for his good intention. Hopefully he will come and see Brother Kei off on his last journey," he added.
Lee passed away early this month after struggling with lung cancer since late last year.
A former gang member who left organised crime to join showbiz in the 1980s, Lee has starred in 40 movies throughout his career including the "Young and Dangerous" franchise and the 1997 film, "Chinese Midnight Express".
He was 69.
