Lee San San inspired to do more charity work
27 Feb – After making a rare appearance at a charity event to share her experience with her illness, former beauty queen Lee San San took to social media to reveal her plans for the future.
As reported on Mingpao, Lee, who posted a video on her social media account in the early hours of the morning of 24 February, revealed that she felt compelled to appear at the event when invited by Tung Wah Chairman Vinci Wong, whom she has known for a while.
"I have used Tung Wah's [medical] services before, as do my family and friends, so it feels good to be attending it for the first time. I admit I was nervous, but it was time to take the first step, to brave myself and face the world," she said.
Lee said that she would love to participate in more charity events in the future following her successful speech, especially being someone who has went through a lot in her life and learned how to face it.
"Thank you for your support, and let me bravely take the first step. Today is not the last. This is just the beginning," she said.
On the other hand, in response to the media, Lee said that she is still against sharing her personal issues with the public, though she would be happy to share her journey through charity.
Lee was previously speculated to be battling brain cancer – a rumour she had since dismissed as false.
