The latest “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” teaser is just 11 seconds of Rey being totally badass

It’s Monday afternoon, and we know exactly what you need to feel better: A teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi! The teaser is a reminder that Rey is the absolute fiercest, and it gives a little idea about what to expect from the new trailer that’ll drop tonight.

The Last Jedi teaser, which the official Star Wars Twitter account posted on Sunday night, is only 11 seconds long.

But it’s an amazing 11 seconds. It’s all Rey, which is the perfect ratio of Rey. Before you watch, it’s important to ask yourself: Are you ready for something this cool? Can your heart take it? If so, please proceed.

Right? Right!

Watch her wield that lightsaber with ferocity. Then, watch it again. After three or four times, you should be prepared to seize your day with the same level of intensity. And, you know, handle your business as deftly as Rey does a lightsaber.

It’s beyond inspiring that a new generation of Star Wars fans gets to grow up with an iconic, female badass like Rey, following in the footsteps of General Leia Organa — who made it clear that she wasn’t a damsel in distress from the very beginning of the series.

Remember the moment from The Force Awakens when Rey flies the Millennium Falcon? How your heart felt when you saw her wield a lightsaber for the first time? If this Last Jedi teaser is any indication, the new Star Wars sequel is going to be two and a half hours of just that feeling.

The new Last Jedi trailer drops tonight. If the Star Wars Twitter wanted to surprise us with it any other materials earlier, though, that would be cool too.
