Lana Wong announces departure from Hong Kong
13 Jun – Veteran actress Lana Wong Ha-Wai recently shocked fans by announcing that she is leaving Hong Kong for good.
As reported on Mingpao, the 91-year-old actress shared the news on her Facebook account, saying that she will be leaving the city in August and will be having her last interview with the media on 12 June.
"A lot has changed in the space of ten years... but despite the hard times, I have enjoyed every moment with Hong Kong citizens along the way," she wrote.
"I don't know if we will ever meet again in Hong Kong, but at this moment, I will miss every single one of you no matter which part of the world I am in!"
When asked about her decision, Lana's manager Simon stated that the actress and her husband Albert Poon will be going to the United States - a plan that the two have been making since last year.
As for her charity projects, Simon said that Lana has already entrusted it to a friend to manage it about half a year ago.
