"Lan Kwai Fong" director Wilson Chin dies

28 Oct – Hong Kong filmmaker Wilson Chin has recently passed away.

As reported on Mingpao, the news was confirmed by wife Calinda Chan, who revealed that Wilson had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past two years and eventually passed away in peace on 27 October.

"He always thought that he would recover. He was my hero. A lot of friends cherished him," she said.

Chan also stated that their two-year-old daughter was also able to see her father for the last time.

It was in May this year, Wilson, who was photographed looking much thinner than his usual self, shared that he was having pancreatic issues and was seriously ill.

Wilson first joined TVB as an office assistant in 1983, and went on to become a variety show producer before he began directing his own movies like, "Lan Kwai Fong", and "One Night in Taipei".

He was 58.
