Kris Wu wins Gold Crane award for Best Actor


27 Oct - Chinese actor Kris Wu was recently named Best Actor at Tokyo International Film Festival's China Film Week.

As reported on Phoenix News, the actor, who won the Gold Crane Award for his role in "Sweet Sixteen", stated that he is honoured and thankful for the win.

"I'm very happy to attend the Tokyo International Film Festival, and China Film Week. This is a great opportunity of enhancing cross-border cultural exchanges," said Kris.

He also expressed hope that more and more Chinese films will be shown around the world and reach a wider range of audiences.

The Tokyo International Film Festival's China Film Week exhibits the latest Chinese made films. The main purpose is to promote exchanges between China and Japan.

While there were only film screenings in the past, this year, they decided to hold a separate awards event as well.

Aside from Kris, actress Jiang Qinqin won Best Actress for her role in "A Fool", while Guan Hu won best Director for his work "Mr Six".
