Kim K ‘still learning to be a single parent,’ gets criticized by North

Co-parenting is hard enough for everyone involved, but throw in A-list celebrities, paparazzi, and more drama than anyone can fathom, and it’s a recipe for disaster. Turns out, Kim Kardashian is just like us when it comes to parenting woes and co-parenting, and even she isn’t safe from harsh judgment from her kids.

In the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim shares with Kourtney that her daughter North tells her that Kanye is the “best” parent because he has things “all figured out” and doesn’t need a nanny, a chef, or security, like Kim does.

This conversation with Kourtney stems from an interview Kim had in May on Jay Shetty’s podcast, where she shared that she struggles to raise her kids “with no one there to help.” Kim received quite a bit of backlash for that comment.

But she defended herself on the episode by saying, “Obviously, having nannies and a chef to help cook is beyond helpful. It’s all about family and enjoying these moments. It takes a village to raise kids, but at the end of the day, your kids only want you,” she said.

The mom of four admitted that she thinks she’s still “learning how to be a single parent.”

Kim also pointed out, “The one thing that everyone has in common is just the amount of time that we have. I’m raising four kids and I split my time between my work, my family, my four kids and I want to make sure that my kids have 90% of that.”

But North isn’t giving her a pass on this, and according to Kourtney, her three children she shares with her ex Scott Disick say the same things to her.

“They do that at Scott’s too,” Kourtney says in the episode. “Like, ‘Dad has the best house, your house sucks. He has the best house, it’s not super big, but the vibe’s better.’”

Kourtney also reveals that it seems like all of the children—both Kim’s kids and her own—seem to “crave normality over luxury.” She told Kim that by starting to make pancakes for the kids herself and sitting at the table with them was a game changer, and suggested Kim spend more time with her own kids doing regular things.

At the end of the episode, Kim took Kourtney’s advice and did some one-on-one cooking with North.
