Kent Cheng denies reducing work due to diabetes

10 May - Kent Cheng recently dismissed the notion that he has been cutting down work due to his struggle with diabetes.

As reported on Mingpao, the veteran actor, who is making his TVB comeback with a new drama, "Miraculous Old Boy" (working title), smiled when asked about it during the costume-fitting conference held in TVB City.

"If you have diabetes, you actually need to earn more money for medical treatment," he said in response. "If you are not in good health, you can't come back to film dramas."

Kent also stated that he takes a pill a day to control his blood sugar, and would make sure not to be a problem to the cast and crew.

"I've never been afraid of hard work. I don't work hard to earn money in the world, now I will shoot whenever it suits me," he added.

It is noted that one of Kent's last dramas was the 2019's "My Life as Loan Shark". He also played a supporting character in "Line Walker: Bull Fight".
