Kay Tse's domestic helper charged with theft

19 Jan – 25 year-old Miko Ambarsari has recently pleaded guilty over one count of theft at the Hong Kong Magistrate Court, after stealing from her former employer, Hong Kong singer Kay Tse.

As reported on Mingpao, the Indonesian woman, who had worked with the singer for four years, disappeared earlier this month after stealing RMB 6000 (USD$925) from Kay's wallet but was arrested a few days later in Tsim Sha Tsui.

During the trial, Ambarsari admitted that she had stolen a hefty amount of cash on 11 January from a villa in The Beverly Hills, Tai Po - a property belonging to Kay.

The prosecution pointed out that the defendant had been hired by Kay as a domestic helper since 2017. At 9pm on 9 January, Kay put her wallet containing RMB 20,000 in cash on top of the TV cabinet and soon realised that RMB 6000 of the amount in the wallet was missing. While she did not call the police immediately, she later suspected that her domestic helper was involved regarding the missing money when the maid disappeared the next day.

Ambarsari was arrested on the 16th of the same month, and has since been sentenced to six weeks in jail.

When asked to respond to Ambarsari's sentencing, Kay said that the incident was a family affair and that she would rather not respond to it.
