Kate Hudson is the romcom queen. From How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Raising Helen to Bride Wars and Something Borrowed, she’s continuously displayed her knack for championing a heart-warming love story—and a seriously clear complexion. While Kate might not be able to grant us the perfect meet-cute IRL, she’s more than willing to bestow her biggest beauty secrets upon us.
In November 2022, Vogue set out to discover the secret to Kate’s gorgeous, glowing skin.
“I’ve always had some kind of routine, and I enjoy it more now that I’m older. [Though] I’m not religious about it,” Kate told the outlet, noting that she’s human and sometimes skips removing her makeup at night. Nevertheless, there are three things she never skimps on: sleep, hydration, and a beauty supplement.
“I created a supplement with InBloom called Beauty Aura ($35) and I take this every day,” Kate revealed, noting that she mixes two scoops into water. “And for me, skin—like fine lines, hair, nails—this is my dream product. This supports skin elasticity, stronger nails, [and] hair.”
The 45-year-old actress is also a big fan of lasers—which isn’t surprising considering she’s the face of Alma.

“I love the results I get from laser treatments and I prefer them to injectables or fillers,” she told Good Housekeeping UK in December 2024. “I’ve been seeing [Hollywood skincare expert] Nurse Jamie since my early 30s. She has all the bells and whistles at her LA clinic, and she introduced me to the Alma Harmony laser treatment. It’s now my go-to a few days before big events such as the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes. It boosts collagen production and makes skin look amazing—plumper, glowing, and at its best. It’s gentle and there’s no downtime, but you can still see a difference. Everything feels tighter and my face looks more awake. I love trying new treatments but I’m also a research fanatic—it has to be safe.”
Of course, Kate also loves skincare products. While she revealed to Vogue that she regularly switches up her daily application, she shared a few of her favorite skincare goodies for dewy, plump, hydrated skin. First, she likes to double cleanse with the African Botanics Buchu Botanical Enzyme Polish ($75), followed by the Pai Skincare Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil ($49). Then, she hydrates and plumps her skin with the Neutrogena Moisturizing Hydro Boost Hydrating Face Mask ($6), which she rolls with a Mount Lai De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller ($36) to amplify the effects. After removing her mask, she applies the Symbiome The One Restorative Cream ($125). (She told Good Housekeeping that she also loves the Symbiome The Answer Reparative Serum, $200.) To round out her skincare routine, she finishes with the Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops Serum SPF 50 ($160) and a touch of the cult-favorite Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($24).
For her everyday “wake-up makeup,” Kate told Vogue that she follows her skincare with a lightweight application of the RMS Beauty UnCover-Up Cream Foundation ($60), which she taps in with her fingers, and Kosas Revealer Concealer ($32) wherever need be. Next, she contours her face with the Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick ($48) (though, she also loves the Tower 28 Beauty Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer, $20, according to GH), highlights using the RMS Beauty Luminizer Quad ($40), and adds a flush of color to her cheeks with the Monika Blunder Liquid Flush Cheek Tint ($28). To accentuate her eye area, she keeps it simple with mascara (she told Good Housekeeping UK that her be-all, end-all mascara is the Dolce & Gabbana Everfull XL Mascara, $37) and lightly filled-in brows. She completes her everyday face beat with a kiss of color outlined with the Pat McGrath Labs Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil ($29).
As much as Kate loves researching and experimenting with new products and treatments, she reminds us all that true beauty lies within. “True beauty is a vibe; some people radiate beauty in a way that has nothing to do with how they look,” she told Good Housekeeping. “It’s like when you’re attracted to a piece of art; it emanates character. You could have an untouched face or you might have had five facelifts—it’s about intrigue and a lightness of being, not beauty standards or following trends.”
