Karen Mok to challenge herself in performing at high altitude
20 Sep – After becoming the first Chinese singer to perform at the French Folies Bergère music hall, Karen Mok is set to break another record by holding a concert at a high altitude.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer shared the news on social media recently, revealing that she will be performing at a sports centre in Lhasa, Tibet, on 12 October at an altitude of 3,650 meters above sea level.
"This is a very important moment for the "The Ultimate Karen Mok Show". We have to make history together," she said.
Karen also urged all fans from all over the world to attend the concert and witness this important moment.
Aside from Lhasa, Karen will also be touring Taipei, Tokyo, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and other venues.
It is noted that not many artistes have successfully held a show at such a height. Back in June, Hacken Lee revealed that he needed some oxygen boost after suffering from altitude sickness following his performance in the same area.
Hacken said that he was able to perform normally for the first two songs, only to struggle two verses into singing his upbeat song "Red Sun".
