Kara Hui honoured to receive Bronze Bauhinia Star

2 Nov – Kara Hui recently admitted that she was extremely honoured to be the recipient of the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong government.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who attended the event in a simple green dress that she said highlighted the medal of honour, said that the Hui family is more excited about the honour than she is.

"I have never received so many short messages congratulating me for my film awards. This time, they were proud of me," she said.

Kara added that she was happy to be given a recognition outside the film circle, and that the medal feels more like something that brings pride to her family.

"I kept looking at the medal and it made me very happy. I will place them next to my film awards," she said.

Kara also took to social media to express her happiness with the recognition, writing, "A lot of emotions flooded me at the moment I received the honour. I have never been a person who knows how to express myself. But at this moment, I would like to share this waves of emotion with you.

"I have come a long way after facing many ups and downs. It's all because of the support from fans and friends!" she added.

The Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS), the lowest rank in Order of the Bauhinia Star in Hong Kong, is awarded to persons who have given outstanding service over a long period of time. Kara has been awarded for her outstanding achievements in the performing arts industry.
