Just hours after being restricted on Instagram for breaking the platform's rules, Kanye West was locked out of his Twitter account over a string of Antisemitic comments.

On Friday, Instagram said it had restricted Kanye's account due to a violation of the platform's rules and policies, noting that the content had been deleted. However, neither details of the specific content that was removed nor the rules that were violated were revealed.

In response to being restricted on Instagram, Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye last year – tweeted a photo of himself and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg. "Look at this Mark," he captioned the photo, "How you gone kick me off instagram". Elon Musk – who is currently in a bid to buy Twitter – replied with: "Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!"

But just one day later, Kanye found himself in hot water once again after sharing a tweet in which he said he would go "death con 3" on Jewish people. He went on to allege that he isn't Antisemitic "because black people are actually Jew." The tweet was removed by Twitter and replaced with text that said it violated the platform's rules.

It's unclear how long Kanye will be locked out of his social media accounts, but many are calling for him to be banned permanently. "Kanye West is an Antisemitic bigot and please don't try to make excuses on his hatred. He needs to be banned from ALL social media. Use your voices to denounce his bigotry and hatred. Don't be silent," one person tweeted, with another adding: Kanye’s behaviour is just getting worse. He needs to be banned from social media."

"That Antisemitic tweet and death threat from Kanye West should've been enough for Twitter to suspend him permanently. It's so bad I don't even want to share a screenshot," a third person wrote. "Kanye need to be banned from social media like they did Trump!" someone else said, referencing former US President Donald Trump's permanent removal from social media.

On Instagram, the American Jewish Committee branded Kanye's posts "dangerous" and said he had been spreading "incoherent rants laden with racist and Antisemitic undertones".

Kanye's Antisemitic comments come just days after he faced backlash for designing and wearing a "White Lives Matter" T-shirt at his Yeezy fashion show in Paris. "Kanye west making Black models wear 'White Lives Matter' shirts is a culmination of his anti blackness and his immersion in white supremacy ideologies and methods. Disgusting," someone tweeted in response.
