Julie Andrews doesn't just do schooling in "Julie's Greenroom", she's also going
to be schooling Aquaman himself.

26 Nov – Renowned actress Julia Andrews (that's Dame Julia Elizabeth Andrews to us normal beings) has been busy lending her British voice to animated characters in movies these past few years and her upcoming one might be the most "powerful" yet.

As it turns out, the 83-year-old has a secret key role in the upcoming "Aquaman".

Entertainment Weekly reported that the actress is voicing the mythical Karathen in the movie. The undersea creature will assist Jason Momoa's titular superhero in uniting the surface worlds and Atlantis.

"We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered," producer Peter Safran said. "And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer."

"Who knew that "Aquaman" would have the real Mary Poppins this Christmas?" He jokingly added.

The joke was made in reference to the fact that both "Aquaman" and "Mary Poppins Returns" will be releasing in cinemas just days apart this December.

Andrews previously starred as the eponymous nanny in the 1964 "Mary Poppins", which the upcoming Emily Blunt-starrer serves as sequel to. The original star has, however, declined to be in the sequel so as to not distract from Blunt's take on the well-known role.

Andrews hasn't appeared on the big screen 2010's "Tooth Fairy" but she has been voicing characters in the "Shrek" and "Despicable Me" franchises. She has also made several small screen appearances, the last one being Netflix's educational pre-school TV series, "Julie's Greenroom".
