Joyce Tang returns to work after skiing accident
7 Feb – Joyce Tang has recently returned to work, after two weeks of hospitalisation in Japan following her previous accident during a ski trip in the country.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress who was in TVB City to resume shooting her long-running series, "Come Home Love: Lo and Behold", shared that she actually broke her ribs after falling down the stairs at the ski resort.
"The doctors were worried that my lungs would be weakened by the injury and that it'll make it easier for me to get infected especially during this pandemic, so they advised me not to return to Hong Kong immediately after leaving the hospital. I decided to stay in the hotel in Aomori instead," she said.
Joyce admitted that it will take more time before she is fully well, adding that a full recovery is estimated to take around a year.
"The hardest thing right now is to laugh. It hurts my ribs when I laugh. The doctors prescribed me [painkillers] but I don't think I should depend on them," she added.
However, the actress stated that the silver lining from the accident was that she saw how dedicated her husband is, having had to travel back and forth between Hong Kong and Japan to take care of her.
