Joel Chan and Elaine Yiu say "The Unholy Alliance" is a challenge
17 Aug - Joel Chan and Elaine Yiu admitted that their new drama, "The Unholy Alliance" presented a different kind challenge to them as an actor.
The two stars, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao to promote the new drama recently, shared that the action scenes in the drama were tailored to their individual levels, which means that both of them had to give their very best effort in their scenes.
"It's hard to believe that Elaine You can fight!," said Joel, jokingly.
The actor shared that while he does have a background in martial arts, it's a different thing altogether when he has to do real fight scenes in the drama.
"We had a special training in fighting styles before production, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA. We also learned how to handle a gun the correct way," he said.
Joel also shared that he cherished the cooperation with his veteran co-star, former ATV actress Nina Paw, and expressed hope that they will be able to work together again in the future.
On the other hand, Elaine shared that one of the hardest thing to do was to fight while wearing a skirt, although added that it is not as sexy as it sounds.
