Joe Lam: Hiromi Wada is prettier than Louisa Mak!
3 Sep –After angering fans with his decision to use Chadwick Boseman's death to promote his insurance, controversial Hong Kong celebrity Joseph "Joe" Lam recently made the news again for comparing his current girlfriend Hiromi Wada with ex-girlfriend Louisa Mak.
As reported on Singtao Daily, Lam, who has been dating Hiromi for the past few months, was furious when Hiromi and Louisa - who both attended the Miss Hong Kong 2020 pageant on 30 August - was compared to each other by the tabloids, with some calling Louisa as "elegant" while describing Hiromi as "plain and unremarkable".
He posted, "Hiromi is more beautiful than Louisa Mak, and has a better body. Her look is absolutely first class. It is by no means ordinary. We're just here as an audience, so should she be wearing a dressing like a pageant queen?"
Although his intention was to defend his girlfriend, many thought that it was unnecessary for him to drag Louisa into the picture as well.
However, Lam continued to defend his statement on social media, sharing a post that read, "Haters are too blind to see the difference between comparing gals for fun and standing up for your [girlfriend]."
"Supporting your girlfriend is a man's most basic responsibility. To all women, the next time your boyfriend doesn't know how to protect you, watch out," he posted.
On the other hand, when asked about it, Louisa only responded, "No comment. I don't want to be involved."
