Jody Chiang announces return to music
12 Sep - Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang recently announced that she is making her comeback after a nine-year hiatus.
In a handwritten letter that she shared on 10 September, the singer revealed that she had had experienced many life and death situations, from pulmonary embolism to heavy bleeding since she was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, which had also affected her voice.
"Until the eve of the 2015 Blessing Concert, I found a huge change in my body. I didn't want to affect the mood of the team and everyone, and I was afraid that my fans would worry, so I took medicine to control it myself. So I named the concert 'Blessing', blessing everyone and also blessing myself," she wrote.
Now that she has successfully fought cancer, Jody said that she is ready to make her grand comeback.
"Although I know there will be some talk when I restart my career, after experiencing the life-and-death moments when I didn't know whether I would live or die in the next second, and the great shock and regret brought to the world by the epidemic, I look at things more clearly. I don't care about the so-called 'voices' anymore, and they are no longer important. Life is short, seize the moment and be yourself," she added.
It is noted that Jody announced the end of her singing career in 2015 with 16 farewell concerts.
