Jia Ling is now Prada's brand ambassador
4 June - Chinese netizens couldn't help but expressed surprise after it was revealed that comedienne-turned-filmmaker Jia Ling has been appointed the new brand ambassador for Prada.
On 2 June, Jia Ling also posted a promotional video of herself endorsing the brand on her social media account, with a caption that read, "Lenses and colours, stories and silhouettes, create extraordinary things with [Prada]."
In the video, the "YOLO" star can be seen wearing Prada's single-breasted cotton twill trench coat in one photo, and a black dress in another.
"Jia Ling's vigorous artistic expression shares the freshness and timelessness," Prada said in a statement. "Prada looks forward to witnessing Jia Ling's future creations, bringing new perspectives to Chinese cinematic narratives."
Jia Ling made headlines earlier this year for losing more than 50kg for her role in her own directorial effort, "YOLO", which topped the box office when it was released in February.
