Jessica Michibata arrested on suspicion of drug possession

22 Mar – Japanese supermodel Jessica Michibata was arrested by the Japanese police on suspicion of possessing the synthetic drug MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy).

According to Oriental Daily, the 38-year-old model was detained by the police with her friends while staying in a hotel in Tokyo.

The police stated that the MDMA was found hidden in a package that arrived from overseas and was delivered to the same hotel room where Jessica was allegedly in.

The model is denying all charges.

On the other hand, her sister and fellow model Karen Michibata updated on social media that she is still in disbelief over the whole incident and that she still does not have the full information regarding the case.

Jessica's management also stated that they are still unable to contact the model directly and will refrain from providing any further details for the time being.
