Jerry Yan and Shen Yue to collaborate in new series

24 Jul – The lead stars of two different "Meteor Garden" series will be united in an upcoming Chinese series.

As reported on ET Today, Jerry Yan, who played Dao Ming Si in the hit 2001 idol drama, and Shen Yue, the 2018 version of the show's heroine Shan Cai, will be working together in "The Exchange Luck", a new series based on a novel of the same name.

Jerry will be playing the role of Lu Xingcheng, a fashion icon turned magazine editor who finds his luck changed for the worse after kissing his lowly assistant Tong Xiaoyou (Shen Yue), who eventually finds herself becoming more successful after her encounter with the former.

Following the news, fans expressed their support for the collaboration despite their 20-year age gap, with many saying that it would be an interesting combination to see the "old Dao Ming Si" interacting with the "new Shan Cai".

The upcoming drama will be helmed by Taiwanese director Lin Zi-ping, of "Rock 'N Road" and "Happy Michelin Kitchen" fame.
