Jelly Lin Yun is 2017 AFA's Rising Star of Asia

20 Mar - Chinese actress Jelly Lin Yun has been selected as this year's recipient of the Rising Star of Asia Award.

As reported on Mingpao, the young star, who became popular after playing the female lead in Stephen Chow's 2016 film, "The Mermaid", will be receiving the said award at the 11th Asian Film Awards ceremony on 21 March.

This isn't the first time she has won an award for her role in the movie. Last year, she was honoured with various accolades including the 15th New York Asian Film Festival's Rising Star Award and the 18th Huading Awards' Best New Actor.

The actress is also nominated in the Best New Performer category at the upcoming Hong Kong Film Awards.

On the other hand, she will soon be seen in a new movie about Genghis Khan alongside William Chan and Hu Jun.
