Jay-R Siaboc surrenders to police for drug use

The PDA alum has admitted to using but not selling drugs

14 Jul - Pinoy Dream Academy alumnus, Jay-R Siaboc, has recently surrendered himself to the police in Toledo City, following rumours that he was a drug pusher.

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the 29-year-old singer was one of the 528 drug suspects who surrendered on 12 July, although he claimed to have only used drugs and not selling it to others.

According to Supt. Samuel Mina Jr, the acting Chief of the Toledo City Police Office (TCPO) who spoke to the singer, Siaboc revealed that he was exposed to illegal drugs due to the nature of his job as a band singer who travelled from one place to another.

He has also decided to surrender as the first step to change his life for the better.

"He wanted to be a changed man. He should undergo rehab," said Mina.

The acting chief also revealed that Siaboc bought his supply from friends in Barangay Awihao, whose name he has declined to mention.

Best known for his song "Kada Uli Hilot", Siaboc first appeared on television on "Your Song" and then in the prime time TV series "Pangarap na Bituin". He also starred in the action TV series "Palos".
