Jade Chou denies suffering from postpartum depression
29 Mar - Jade Chou has denied rumours that she has been suffering from postpartum depression after giving birth to two children back-to-back.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who made a rare appearance at an endorsement event recently, shared that it is natural for new parents to be worn out from taking care of their children, what with the stress and lack of sleep.
Jade admitted that there were times when she cried after the children are asleep, although quickly added that she would be happy again as soon as she saw them. Nothing that can be considered depression, she added.
"The doctor said that it's normal for parents to do that," she said.
Speaking about her two children, Jade said that her eldest daughter is now learning to speak and has been showing interest in girly stuff.
"She would wear my heels, smear make-up on her dolls' face, and would try to feed her brother. She would lift his head, and try to put the bottle inside his mouth. It's really funny," she said.
When asked if she will make her acting comeback, Jade said that she would wait at least until her second child turns three.
The actress added that she and husband, actor Blue Lan have discussed about taking turns in the future.
"I will return to acting, but I would prefer doing mini dramas and projects that don't require long filming periods. I will balance work and family," she said.
