Jackson Lai welcomes baby boy
9 Jun – TVB actor Jackson Lai, who previously made headlines for his extramarital affair with Ashley Chu, recently announced the birth of his child.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who accompanied his wife to the hospital on the night of 3 June, shared that Mrs. Lai gave birth via C-section in the morning after finding out that there was a complication in the womb during their previous check-up.
"Thank you for your attention. My wife and baby are both doing fine now," he said.
As for the said complication, Jackson said that the doctor found that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck - a situation that could cause asphyxia. However, the cord was loosened just prior to the delivery and that Jackson was able to cut it following his baby's birth.
"The baby was born at full term and weighs seven pounds. Right now, my wife is trying to breastfeed. She has been awake, but still tired from the anesthetics. She can only eat porridge and something light for now," he said.
As to whether the two of them have any plan to add another, Jackson Lai said that both he and his wife love children and would have no qualms having more.
"But we will let fate decide, and consider our financial situation," he said.
Back in April, Jackson made the news for having a relationship with his "Brain-Eating Zombie" co-star while his wife was heavily pregnant with their child. The two actors later apologised and claimed that they were unable to move away from their roles.
Ashley had since admitted to her own relationship with fellow actor, Brian Tse.
