How to declutter your kitchen in just 4 easy steps
These simple tips can help you declutter and make more space in your kitchen.
When you think about your dream kitchen, what comes to mind? Clutter-free, spotless tabletops and ample space, right? The kitchen is often considered as one of the high-traffic areas of your home, and we tend to unconsciously drop odd items like letters, toys, and packages there, which will just introduce more clutter.
On top of that, we tend to collect one too many cookbooks or have 30 plates when we only have a family of four. If this is your current kitchen, it's time for you to step in and do something about it. By removing excess kitchen tools and clutter, you'll be able to experience the tremendous joy of cooking. Trust the process.
Grab yourself a pot of tea, clear your schedule one Sunday morning, and use this time to finish your kitchen project. To start, make sure your floor or counters are empty so you can take everything out from the shelves and cabinets.

4 steps to start decluttering your kitchen
1. Remove spares or excess kitchen items
We tend to have duplicates of cups, Tupperware, bowls, pots, and pans in the kitchen area. Ask yourself honestly, Do I really need it? We tend to keep spares because we think they are 'useful', but we rarely use them when cooking.
Tip 1: Toss away those cracked plates and mugs as those items can cut your hands and mouth and even harbour bacteria.
Tip 2: You won't need those plastic food containers; we'd suggest you keep one set of lidded food containers in your cabinet instead.

2. Arrange your spice jars so that you can see what you have
The problem we have with keeping spice jars inside cabinets is that we tend to forget about them, and we end up buying extra food like sugar, spices, and more. Arranging your spice jars is a simple task to ensure you can see those food items upfront.
Tip 3: Another way to group your spice jars is to arrange them nicely in a basket so you can pull everything out to view in one shot.

Keep big items in your cabinets but your day-to-day items in a moveable space so they will always be at arm's length.

4. Use products with multipurpose functions
Instead of having a steamer, soup pot, and a fryer that take up space, why not invest in a kitchen item with multipurpose functions? These days, you can find a multifunction cooker or a multicooker that can help you save time and space altogether.
