Hilary Duff launches eyewear range inspired by strong women

GlassesUSA.Com And Hilary Duff Partner To Launch Muse x Hilary Duff Eyewear Collection

Hilary Duff is flexing her accessory design muscles with a new line of eyewear.

The actress has teamed up with online retailer GlassesUSA.com to create an 80-piece collection of specs aimed at boosting women's confidence, dubbed ‘Muse x Hilary Duff'. The range comprises 23 frame styles for prescription glasses and sunglasses, with multiple options in terms of colors and shapes ranging from aviator to oblong formats. Each of the models has been named after an iconic woman, with monikers including ‘Marilyn,' ‘Jane' (as in Austen), and ‘Lizzie' -- presumably after her famous on-screen character Lizzie McGuire.

"When you are comfortable in your own skin and proud of who you are, you can focus on what's important in your life -- family, friends, career, health," said Duff in a statement. "This collection is just about that. Every single aspect of it -- from the packaging, small personal message to my fans, the co-designed frames, and the names that were inspired by strong influential women -- is a part of who I am and how I want to connect with and inspire women. These elements were created to make them feel special, unique and accepted."
Each pair of glasses will be delivered with an inspirational message, and the actress is sending out hand-signed notes to her first 500 customers. The styles range from $89 to $125, with shoppers able to make use of GlassesUSA's virtual mirror feature to test out various styles online before purchasing.

Eyewear collections are fast becoming the new accessory business of choice for celebrities, with supermodel Gigi Hadid teaming up with Vogue Eyewear on two collections last year. Drew Barrymore, Gwen Stefani and Khloe Kardashian have also designed glasses or sunglasses over the past few years.
