HGTV Star Jonathan Knight Updates Fans on Beautiful Wildflower Project
As Jonathan Knight wrapped up his Magic Summer tour with New Kids on the Block, he had a special request for fans: In lieu of plastic friendship bracelets, he asked concertgoers to bring him wildflowers he could plant on his Massachusetts farm. Now, he's updating his followers on Instagram, and everyone is excited to see the results.
Back in August, Jon shared a message with fans. He wrote, "2 shows left. You know how I feel about plastic beads. Bad for the environment. So I'm initiating...seeds instead of beads. Bring me a packet of wildflower seeds instead to be planted on my farm this spring. I'll document the experiment while I create my yearly wildflower garden that you can be a part of."
Fans came through with the seeds, and the Farmhouse Fixer star followed up on his promise. Last week, he shared a photo of his progress sorting the seeds in his kitchen and preparing for planting. He shared the message, "Spent the night organizing all the seeds I received on tour this summer. I am so thankful to everyone that brought me your gift of seeds. Now that it’s spring I’m weeks away from getting these in the ground. I have so much seed I’m likely going to have a 1/2 acre wildflower meadow. Wasn’t expecting so much but the bigger the better, right? Can’t wait to see all the colors and textures that will unfold over the summer and to watch the bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and all the beautiful insects that will take up residence! This is such a perfect gift… I will share lots of photos and videos as things start to grow. Xx J"
The NKOTB star received messages of support from his fans and friends. One fan wrote, "This was such a lovely wonderful idea and your wildflower meadow is going to look so beautiful Jon. I can't wait to see all of the pictures and videos when the wildflowers start to grow." Jon's friend and HGTV star Jenny Marrs commented, "I love this!!❤️" and Jon's bandmate Joey McIntyre said, "That’s the best. You’re the best. Yeah, and I think you asked for seeds way late into the tour!"
Other fans expressed their interest in mailing seeds, and he replied, "I have more than enough. But thank you!!!"
As fans wait for Jon's next wildflower update, we can watch him on season 6 of Rock the Block! Jon teams up with his brother Jordan for the competition show, which returns to HGTV on April 14.
