HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Puts Bespoke Beach House in SoCal Up for Sale at $6.5 Million

If you’re a fan of HGTV’s Hidden Potential and Help! I Wrecked My House, then this particular listing is sure to grab your attention. Owned by none other than Jasmine Roth—the California-based designer and builder behind both shows—the charming abode is now on the market in the Orange County city of Huntington Beach, complete with one-of-a-kind interiors and a roof deck.

The 39-year-old Virginia native, who transforms cookie-cutter houses into custom dream homes and helps do-it-yourselfers with failed home-improvement projects, is asking a tad under $6.5 million for the so-called Roth Homestead, which she and her husband Brett purchased for $700,000 back in May 2016. Kevin Via of Compass holds the listing.

Roth’s custom SoCal home rests in downtown Huntington Beach.

Sited just blocks away from the beach in the popular Lake Park neighborhood, the brown wood-sided and white-accented structure was built from the ground up over three years by Roth in her signature “California casual” style. Completed in 2020, the dwelling features five bedrooms and six baths in a little more than 4,550 square feet of living space boasting a mix of porcelain tile and hand-brushed, matte-oiled engineered hardwood floors, along with a Savant Smart Home System controlled with a phone app, three HVAC zones, and a monitored security system.

Nestled amid a fenced and gated parcel of land spanning less than a quarter-acre, the two-story home is accessed by a walkway that empties out at double wood doors that open to the front entrace. Once inside, a hallway flows to an office space with a full bath on one side and a formal dining room warmed by a fireplace on the other.

Fun personal touches include a pet cubby/reading nook beneath the staircase.

The dining room connects via a wine fridge-equipped butler’s pantry to the “entertainer’s” kitchen, which has an expansive eat-in island topped with leather-finish black granite, open shelving, light oak cabinetry, custom Viking appliances, and a breakfast nook. An adjacent fireside living room sports a built-in reading nook and a pet cubby tucked beneath the curving staircase, along with pocketing glass doors spilling out to a covered terrace outfitted with three TVs and a built-in Lynx barbecue.

Elsewhere on the main level is a bonus room that flaunts a wet bar and a “secret” bookcase that opens to reveal a speakeasy-style lounge with banquette seating; and upstairs, four bedrooms include a serene primary suite resting beneath a vaulted ceiling and flaunting a decorative fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a marble-clad bath spotlighted by dual vanities, a glass-encased shower, and a vintage black and gold clawfoot soaking tub.

The hedge-lined backyard holds a pool, a hot tub, and a spiral staircase leading up to a roof deck.

There are three additional bedrooms and two more baths, along with a TV-viewing area and a laundry room on the second floor. Rounding it all out is a backyard pool and cedar-barrel hot tub, plus a roof deck hosting a firepit and “the only five-and-a-half-car garage in downtown Huntington Beach.”

Roth, who has a 4-year-old daughter and is expecting her second child later this year, is selling because she and her family are moving to Park City, Utah. “Putting the Roth Homestead up for sale is bittersweet,” she says. “It took me three years to build, and it’s been a place we’ve called home for over four years. Hazel was 3 months old when we moved in. I’ve filmed countless scenes of my HGTV series here, and we have so many amazing memories that we’re forever grateful for! That said, as our family grows, we’re excited for our next chapter in Utah, where we’ll be trading sounds of the ocean and sand for our snowboards and hiking trails.”
