Heidi Chan calls it quits with Alvin Chau
21 Dec - Heidi Chan, wife of Suncity Group chairman, Alvin Chau, recently admitted that she has filed for divorce from the casino tycoon.
According to HK Channel, Heidi, whose marriage to Alvin has been under the public eye since his extra-marital affair with Mandy Lieu made headlines, confessed to the media via a telephone interview, saying, "Yes, it is true. I have left the matter to my lawyers, so it's not my place to speak more about it."
Sources revealed that the divorce will be finalised in February, and that Heidi has requested full custody of their children, including their youngest daughter, Damiana - born a few weeks after Alvin's love child with Mandy.
Rumours of an impending divorce sparked recently, after Mandy's good friend and business partner, Bobo Lee revealed that the model is finally returning to Hong Kong.
Previously, it was rumoured that Alvin has decided to purchase a residence for the then pregnant Mandy in London in order to appease his wife.
On the other hand, Heidi's good friend and producer, Tiffany Chen expressed sadness over the news, saying, "If it was me, I would not let my husband go so easily. We are all couples who started from scratch in the business and made it this far. I hope he will cherish the one in front of him."
