Cover art for "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles

"Sign of the Times" is to receive its first public performance on April 3, and a release on April 7; on March 31, Harry Styles teased his fans with a sundripped cover image for the song.

Confirmation of the single's release date and title was deemed commentary enough by Harry Styles' official social media accounts as he released the cover art for "Sign of the Times."

As one of five singers from British boy band One Direction, Styles is not the first to release a solo recording after Zayn Malik left the band in March 2015 and embarked on his own career -- Niall Horan's "This Town" dropped in September 2016.
