Hakeem Jeffries Wears Versatile Lifestyle Sneakers at Donald Trump’s Inauguration 2025

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries attended Donald Trump’s inauguration held today in Washington D.C.

For the highly-anticipated occasion, the political figure sported a pair of casual sneakers in black. The footwear pick featured black leather uppers accompanied by coordinating black lace-up closures. Almond-shaped toes gave way to non-slip rubber soles in a contrasting white hue. The choice was an unusual one given the formality of the event.

Jeffries was one of the only notable men who wore sneakers. Sneakers act as a relaxed and cool addition when partnered with formalwear like suits or slacks. The styling trick has become a popular one within the last few years, seen on stars like Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Reynolds, Joe Jonas, Jared Leto and many more. Similar lifestyle sneakers to Jeffries’ own can be shopped via brands like Kizik, Axel Arigato, Cole Haan and Adidas, among others.

Partnered with his black and white footwear, the attorney wore a classic black suit in a tailored fashion accompanied by a crisp white button-down shirt and a blue tie, likely a nod to his political affiliation. Jeffries also wore an American flag pin on the lapel of his suit jacket.
