Hacken Lee to leave "STARS Academy" for "Sing! China"?

·1-min read

28 Jun – Although he is a mentor in the TVB singing competition, "STARS Academy", it was reported that Hacken Lee has now moved on to become one of the judges of the hit mainland reality show, "Sing! China".

As reported on HK01, the news was recently confirmed by EEG manager, Mani Fok, who stated that the show's producer appreciated Hacken's sense of humour and professionalism, and decided to invite the singer to join the new season.

It is noted that Hacken previously won mainland audiences through his participation in "Singer 2016" and "King of Mask Singer".

Rumour has it that Hacken may not be able to appear at the finals of his TVB reality show in person next month, and will instead speak to the contestants via video. This is due to the fact that the singer will have to travel to the north early to prepare for the other show, seeing that he will need to undergo a 21-day quarantine.

It is noted that Jay Chou and A-Mei were originally slated to mentor singers this year as well, but weren't able to do so due to the pandemic situation in Taiwan.

On the other hand, rumour has it that the new season will have various singers joining in as mentors, including GEM Tang, Li Ronghao, Jason Zhang and Wang Feng.
