There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In 'Great Outfits in Fashion History,' Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

It's well-documented that of all the '90s supermodels, Tyra Banks will forever be my favorite. That said, her personal style hasn't always resonated with me. Sartorially speaking, Cindy Crawford has Banks beat. She was the blueprint for '90s minimalism — a.k.a. my favorite aesthetic — and knew the secret to dressing simply, but always with an elevated touch.

Her appearance at the 1992 Emmy Awards perfectly illustrates this: Crawford wore a fun twist on the tuxedo, featuring a black satin bustier, layered over a deconstructed white button-down and paired with a black thigh-high slit skirt. She styled the ensemble with timeless black accessories: sheer tights, strappy heels and a French girl-esque beret. Only in her glam did Crawford include a pop of color, but even her dark-red lipstick was subtle compared to other beauty looks on the carpet. (As she and Kaia Gerber can surely attest, a face like that doesn't need much to stand out.)

A tasteful black-and-white moment is always en vogue — scroll (and shop!) our picks to replicate Crawford's look below.
