Is there going to be a sequel to Netflix's School for Good and Evil?

Netflix's newest fantasy movie The School for Good and Evil has just been released and yet fans are already begging Netflix for a sequel.
The School for Good and Evil is an adaptation of Soman Chainani's novel series of the same name. The movie tells the story of two best friends Sophie, who dreams of becoming a princess, and Agatha, whose mum thinks she has the makings of a witch. However, one night under the power of the blood red moon, the two are swept up to the School for Good and Evil, where students are trained to become the heroes and villains of fairytales.
Sophie is placed into the School of Evil where she is taught by Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron) and Agatha, is sent to the School of Good where Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington) is her teacher. But when an evil force threatens the school the girls must find their way to a happy ending.
The film ends with a tease for a potential sequel film, but is there going to be a second School for Good and Evil on Netflix? This is everything we know so far.
Has School for Good and Evil 2 been confirmed?
So far Netflix has not confirmed if a second School for Good and Evil will be happening.
However given the film ends on the line "It became clear that this was only the beginning", we'd say that very much leaves it open for another film. And maybe even more if we're lucky.
Who might star in a School for Good and Evil 2?
Whilst Netflix hasn't confirmed a sequel movie, if it were to happen we can definitely expect to see Sophie and Agatha, played by Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie, again.
We can also hope to see Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, and Michelle Yeoh reprise their roles as the school's teachers.
Agatha's love interest Tedros played by Jamie Flatters will also hopefully make a return.
One person's whose return may be a mystery is Laurence Fishburne's character of the Schoolmaster. Whilst he is technically killed at the end of the movie, this is a fantasy movie, and we all know nothing is quite what it seems when magic is involved.
What could happen in a potential School for Good and Evil 2?
The School for Good and Evil is based on a series of novels by Soman Chainani of the same name, so there's plenty of opportunities to develop the story further.
There are six books in the series and the second novel, A World Without Princes, sees Sophie and Agatha return to the school, which is very different to how they left it.
The boys are all living in the School for Evil and the girls in the School for Good. With the schools facing a further battle, it may be up to Sophie and Agatha to restore the peace.
When might the School for Good and Evil 2 be released?
Right now there is no release date for a sequel to the School for Good and Evil, as Netflix is yet to confirm a second movie.
