GOAT and Flight Club Announce the Top Sneaker Trends Set to Dominate This Year

One of the best ways to accurately forecast which trends are next to take over is by analyzing where things currently stand, and there aren’t many data sets as comprehensive as GOAT Group’s third annual Alias Market Report.

The 2025 Alias Market Report combines sales data from GOAT and Flight Club ranging from January 1 to October 31, 2024 to offer a detailed perspective of the sneaker and streetwear styles which are shaping today’s marketplace.

“We’re proud to offer our latest edition of the Alias Market Report,” said Eddy Lu, co-founder and CEO of GOAT Group. “For the last few years, it’s been a vital source of insights for the industry as it highlights trends from the past year as well as projections for the future. In terms of the most in-demand sneakers, the Air Jordan 4 is by far the most dominant model across the marketplaces. The classic Michael Jordan sneaker, originally released in 1989, accounts for six of the 10 most-wanted sneakers including the entire top five highest-ranked pairs. The most sought-after Air Jordan 4 was the return of the “Military Blue” colorway followed by the “Bred Reimagined,” with the “White Thunder” coming in third. Overall, the Air Jordan 4 experienced a 57 percent market share increase. Despite some analysts stating Jordan Brand is losing steam on the resale market, it’s clear the brand still has a strong grip on consumers.

Elsewhere, GOAT’s data shows that Asics is on track to overtake New Balance as the go-to Y2K-era running shoe brand. Asics sales increased 645 percent while demand was up 260 percent — and it was the only non-Nike, Inc. brand to earn a spot in the top-ten most-wanted sneakers. Although New Balance had more sales and wish-listed pairs, its growth was slower compared to the unrelenting surge of the Asics. The Japanese brand’s Gel-1130 was its top seller and surprisingly, general releases fared far better than collaborations. Of the top 50 best-selling Asics, only one shoe, the Hidden NY x Asics Gel-NYC, was a collaboration.

The WNBA’s growth was also apparent on the secondary market. Sabrina Ionescu’s Nike signature sneakers had the highest year-over-year sales increase, bolstered by the launch of the Sabrina 2 and topping names such as Kobe Bryant and James Harden. The most-wanted Ionescu sneaker was the Nike Sabrina 2’s debut “Court Vision” colorway.

One of the most intriguing figures of the ’25 Alias Market Report is its documentation of models with the highest sales growth across GOAT and Flight Club. Leading that group is Deion Sanders’ Nike Air DT Max ’96, which made its anticipated return in ’24. Other pairs of note in the top ten include the Adidas SL 72 and the Puma Speedcat.
