Gigi Wong denies returning to TVB
22 Oct – TV personality Gigi Wong has dismissed the idea that she is coming back to TVB, after it was revealed that her new cooking show, "Gi's Taste" will be streaming on TVB's OTT platform, myTV SUPER.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the press conference for the new show in TVB City in Tseung Kwan O recently, stated that the show is not marking her return to TVB, as it is a collaboration between her and Shaw Brothers and not the station in particular.
"Ms Virginia Lok contacted me and I accepted the offer. The programme is a brand of its own. It is good to have a cooperation with Shaw. I didn't have to worry about the sponsorship at all," she said.
Gigi added that she is used to working with various TV stations - having done a culinary show with viuTV earlier, and has no issues collaborating with anybody.
On the other hand, the actress also revealed that she will not be filming any new drama for the time being in order to undergo surgery for her left knee at the end of the month.
"I had a muscle tear in the left knee when I taped "Eating Well With Madam Wong". It has affected my ability to walk and climb stairs. After four years, I am finally doing the surgery," she added.
