Ghostbusters Villain Revealed, And Looks Very Familiar
‘Ghostbusters’ fans are now counting down the weeks, days, hours, minutes, and, even, seconds until the release of the reboot’s first trailer. For those of you that don’t know, it will finally be with us on March 3rd.
But, ahead of its release, we’ve now got our first real look at the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot’s villain. Albeit in miniature form.
We already knew that ‘Ghostbusters’’ antagonist will be called Rowan and that he’ll voiced by Neil Casey. But now Mattel’s presentation at the 2016 New York Toy Fair has proven that he’s going to look remarkably familiar too.
In fact, Rowan is going to look exactly like the ghoul in the ‘Ghostbusters’ logo. Only he’s wearing a rather spiffing bowtie. Take a look at an image, courtesy of Pixel Dan, of ‘Ghostbusters’’ Rowan in toy form below.
The decision by ‘Ghostbusters’’ director and co-writer Paul Feig, who is scribing the comedy alongside Katie Dippold, to bring the logo to life is actually a rather ingenious way of merging the old ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise with the reboot, while still keeping the new film its own.
Hopefully we’ll get a better look at Rowan when the first official trailer for ‘Ghostbusters’ is released at the start of next month. And for those of you that haven’t seen it, here is the trailer for the ‘Ghostbusters’ trailer:
I usually find Hollywood’s recent trend of releasing a trailer for a trailer stupendously annoying. But, I’m willing to put my feelings to one side for the above, just because of the complete lack of ‘Ghostbusters’ footage we’ve had so far.
‘Ghostbusters’’ promotional push will well and truly kick into gear when the trailer finally hits. Especially since ‘Ghostbusters’’ release date of July 15 is getting ever closer.
