Gao Yunxiang and wife end marriage to protect asset?
18 Jul – Rumours are rife that Chinese actor Gao Yunxiang (also known as Gavin Gao) and wife Dong Xuan have called it quits on their marriage.
As reported on Mingpao, sources recently claimed that the couple have decided to get a divorce back in May this year, and that Gao reportedly handled his divorce via video calls from Australia.
However, some are also claiming that the divorce was actually Gao's attempt to protect their financial assets, as investors of his drama, "The Legend of Ba Qing", have been pushing to sue the actor to compensate their losses after his sexual assault case has thoroughly affected the release of said drama.
Gao's rep has yet to address the latest rumour.
The actor made headlines last year after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney, Australia, while in the country to film his new drama. He is currently out on bail.
