It just got easier to be a VIP at 30,000 feet.

Frontier Airlines recently announced new benefits for members of its loyalty program, including a fast-track offer that helps travelers achieve Elite Platinum status with as little as 20,000 points.

The Denver-based carrier described the updates as "major enhancements" for their loyalty members, which will now include free advanced seat upgrades in both Premium seating, and UpFront seating. Frontier recently unveiled a First Class concept, and shared that it would also become available for complimentary upgrades later this year, according to the company’s release. Frequent flyers in the loyalty program will notices upgrades that clear 12 hours in advance of departure for Platinum members, and 4 hours in advance for Gold members.

The airline is also temporarily dropping the point threshold required for Platinum status, which usually is 50,000 points, to only 20,000 points. Travelers will need to accrue the 20,000 points by April 30, 2025 to receive the upgrade. In addition to the new seating benefit, Platinum members can also achieve the upcoming companion pass that Frontier is releasing this year.

“Frontier’s most loyal customers will have even more reason to make us their airline of choice this year as they start enjoying free seat upgrades and other enhancements, adding extra comfort and convenience to their travel,” Frontier’s Chief Commercial Officer Bobby Schroeter said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure

The new offerings come as Frontier has rolled out a new 'Buy One, Get One' promotion. When customers use the promotional code BOGO, they can save 50 percent off base fares. The sale, which ends on January 17, 2025, has several restrictions such as blackout dates and not being able to purchase tickets on Fridays or Sundays.

Examples of the discounted flights include Las Vegas, NV to San Francisco, CA from $19, and Atlanta, GA to Miami, FL also from $19.
