FOOD REVIEW: Hollywood's favourite burger joint Fatburger has a star in its menu

Fatburger is touted as Hollywood’s favourite burger joint, and its fourth outlet in Singapore has just opened at Cineleisure. It’s claim to fame? A 4-patty burger that’s a true sight to behold and to hold in the stomach. But that’s not the main reason why FAT is in its name. The F.A.T. in Fatburger stands for Fresh, Authentic and Tasty, which is the benchmark for the burgers the chain offers. Think fresh farm-to-table chicken, locally sourced artisanal bread, farm-fresh greens and a whole lot of customising options for the discerning burger chomper.
Even though it’s the fourth Fatburger outlet to open in Singapore, the Cineleisure is the flagship store, boasting a unique stadium design with bold wall murals, as well as a joint effort with Buffalo’s Express to offer up a truly American-style dining experience. The establishment is also halal-certified so everyone can enjoy the wide offerings on the menu!
First Impressions
We got the Original Burger, Fish Burger, Buffalo Wings (both wings and boneless) in four different sauces (there are eight in all), Fat Fries, Onion Rings, Milkshakes in Oreo and caramel flavours and Churros with two dips, chocolate and gula melaka. It’s a supersized meal, and the food coma is real so go with an empty stomach!
The glaze on the brioche bun was so smooth that it reflected the bright neon lights in this burger joint. We noticed that the patty for the Original Burger looked a little dry but the fillings that we can see—pickles, homemade relish and assorted greens—have all been chopped up to tiny pieces, which allowed them to stay in place better than the massive pieces of fillings we usually have falling off burgers. The buffalo wings come in boneless and on bones, and eight different flavours to choose from. Out of everything on the table, the burgers and onion rings stood out, but the true test will come in the form of a taste test.

Verdict
There were hits and misses in this joint. While the patty for the Original Burger is not ideal, the fluffy brioche and fillings more than makes up for it. The winners are the Fish Burger, Onion Rings and subjective to taste, the Caramel milkshake. A must-try at least once!
