Fans and friends bid farewell to Yammie Lam

15 Nov – More than 300 people recently attended the memorial service of actress Yammie Lam to bid their farewell and show their love for her for the last time.

As reported on Mingpao, the service, which was held at Saint Anne's Church - the same church where Yammie was baptised, saw the attendance of many industry insiders like Sheren Tang, Angela Pang, Rachel Lee, and Maggie Cheung.

Other celebrity pals who was there include Dicky Cheung, Sean Lau, and Michael Tao.

The service was also led by Deputy Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong, Chen Zhiming, who admitted to have met a more cheerful Yammie during a Mass five years ago.

"I heard from the other church members that she was a devout believer, often attended Mass and would joke around and talk with the other members. She suffered a lot in life, and I believe that the suffering is now over," said Chen.

Aside from the memorial, St Anne's Church will also be handling her columbarium and arranging all the donations for the actress' family. It is noted that the actress' family has recently declined the Hong Kong Performing Arts Guild's offer to arrange a bigger service.

Yammie was found dead at her apartment in Stanley on 3 November. Police suspected no foul play. She was 55.
