Fans celebrate CoCo Lee's 49th birthday
19 Jan – CoCo Lee would have turned 49 on 17 January if she was still alive, which is why fans of the late singer decided to celebrate her birthday on the very date as a way to honour the pop star.
As reported on Mingpao, fans from all over the world gathered in Wuhan for a special birthday celebration, and even invited the singer's family to attend.
On the morning of 17 January, a large number of fans went to the CoCo Lee Memorial Garden in Shimen Peak Memorial Park to send flowers and gifts to mourn their idol, turning the memorial garden into a sea of flowers.
A commemorative party was then held in the afternoon, where CoCo's 86-year-old mother arrived accompanied by her two daughters Nancy and Carol.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Nancy said, "2023 was a difficult year for our family, friends and fans who love CoCo. 17 January 2024 is her first birthday that CoCo left us and fans from around the world came here to wish her well. Our whole family feel extremely grateful."
Nancy also hopes that her fans will continue to remember CoCo and the positive energy that the singer always spread when she was alive.
At the same event, CoCo's mother also announced the establishment of the official platform for CoCo Lee's Global Fan Club, which will be used to unify the release of information on various commemorative events in the future.
