And leave it behind we must, while looking forward to these fun outdoor events to attend with family or friends! Here's a round-up of some of the events happening till the end of 2022.

28-29 October: Har Paw Villa/Hell's Museum

It's almost like Hell's Museum and Har Paw Villa, with their strong roots and history in Singapore, is prime spot for some Halloween fun! Har Paw Villa is free to enter, while Hell's Museum requires paid entry. For two days only, expect activities to accompany the already interesting Hell's Museum. Here's a sneak peek of what's in the museum when we went there for the launch.

28 Oct, Fri - 29 Oct, Sat, 6pm - 12am

Experience Hell’s Museum after dark, with hours extension to explore all the dark and creepy corners of the museum as well as the infamous 10 Courts of Hell.

On Friday only between 10pm to 3am, you'll also be serenaded by (or drawn into) aural electronics with a Halloween Special Midnight Shift and a special guest from Mord Records.

On Saturday between 7pm to 9pm, Haw Par Villa is also the venue for Candlelight’s first ever outdoor performance! Get in the mood for Halloween by immersing yourself in spine-chilling tracks from all your favourite movie and TV soundtracks and classic horror tunes in the perfect after-dark setting nestled amongst thousands of candles. For one night only! Secure your Candlelight's ticket, with free admission to Hell's Museum here.

From now onwards: Breakfast in the Wild

Singapore Zoo’s signature breakfast programme is back after a two-year hiatus brought on by the pandemic. Rebranded as Breakfast in the Wild, a ‘wilder’ experience is in store while you indulge in a hearty spread of local and international flavours. The all-new experience includes a 30-minute presentation featuring animals including charismatic orangutans, vibrant macaws, inquisitive tamandua (also known as the Lesser Anteater), boisterous coatimundis and zen-like reptiles. There is a free-and-easy interaction area to meet with the animals and their care team, and photo points to capture snapshots for keepsake. You can also bring home a piece of the wild experience from the Retail Kiosk opposite Ah Meng Terrace.

Breakfast in the Wild is available from 9.00am to 10:30am on weekends and public holidays. Interact with the animals and their keepers between 9.30am and 10.00am. Tickets are priced at $45 for adults and $35 for children aged six to 12, while children below the age of six would need to be accompanied by one adult each. A separate Singapore Zoo admission ticket is required to enjoy the breakfast experience. Friends of Wildlife, Friends of Wildlife Plus and Friends of the Zoo enjoy a 20 per cent discount.

Breakfast in the Wild is available from 9am to 10:30am on weekends and public holidays. Catch up with the animals and their keepers between 9:30am and 10am.

From now till 3 January 2023, you can visit Jurong Bird Park for the last time and join them in commemorating the park’s monumental history with an array of activities. Revisit old memories while making new ones! I'd also highly recommend visiting after 19 November, when the park is open daily from 8.30am - 6pm. Visitors can look forward to:

  • A guided Nostalgic Signature Tour, which will take you on an adventure to uncover little-known anecdotes about the park, and engage in exclusive feeding sessions and avian encounters in African Treetops and Waterfall Aviary; and

  • A fun dining experience with traditional push-carts selling local hawker food and carnivals activities to raise the festive spirit!

Jurong Bird Park opens from 8:30am to 6pm, Thursdays to Sundays. Daily operation will resume from 3rd November 2022 onwards. Jurong Bird Park’s last day of operations, and the last date of visit, will be on 3 January 2023.
