Last hurrah for Jurong Bird Park from now till 3 January 2023

Jurong Bird Park is a world-famous zoo for birds. At the moment it is the  world's largest bird park in terms of the number of birds, and second largest both in the number of bird species and land area (after 
 Weltvogelpark Walsrode in Germany). In the Jurong Bird Park there are 5,000 birds of 400 species. 29 of them are threatened species.

Another of Singapore's historical landmarks will be bidding adieu. Jurong Bird Park, established in 1971, will move to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve precinct.

From now till 3 January 2023, you can visit Jurong Bird Park for the last time and join them in commemorating the park’s monumental history with an array of activities to revisit old memories whilst making new ones.

This includes:

  • A self-guided Heritage Trail where you can explore the park’s history and redeem a special memento.

  • A staff-curated trail to discover and learn all about the park’s best-kept secrets.

  • Installations such as a Memory Wall at the Penguin Coast, a re-creation of the park’s old cuckoo clock tower at its entrance, which doubles as a countdown timer to the final day of operations, and a 2D replica of the famous Panorail that once offered guests bird’s-eye views around the park.

  • Hand feeding vibrant lories and lorikeets at the Lory Loft aviary, African birds at African Treetops and African penguins at the Penguin Coast. (available on a first come first serve basis, book here!)

  • The High Flyers show features feathered friends such as the endangered Hyacinth Macaw Gaia, the Great Pied Hornbills Sunny and Vicky, as well as Amigo, the yellow-naped Amazon Parrot and many more. The High Flyers shows will be at 11:30am and 3pm at the Pools Amphitheatre, weather permitting.

  • The Kings of the Skies show starring iconic birds of prey such as the white-tailed sea eagle, the hooded vulture and many more. The King of the Skies shows will be at 10am and 4pm at the Hawk Arena, weather permitting.

From 19 November, the park will be open daily from 8.30am - 6pm. Visitors can look forward to:

  • A guided Nostalgic Signature Tour, which will take you on an adventure to uncover little-known anecdotes about the park, and engage in exclusive feeding sessions and avian encounters in African Treetops and Waterfall Aviary; and

  • A fun dining experience with traditional push-carts selling local hawker food and carnivals activities to raise the festive spirit!

Jurong Bird Park opens from 8:30am to 6pm, Thursdays to Sundays. Daily operation will resume from 3rd November 2022 onwards. Jurong Bird Park’s last day of operations, and the last date of visit, will be on 3 January 2023.
