Fahrin Ahmad: There's still an audience for mature actors

2 Aug – With so many newcomers and young actors now gracing the television screen as lead actors, Fahrin Ahmad is thankful that his new series, "Selamanya Suri Cinta" has given an actor in his 40s like him an important role.

The actor, who plays the antagonist to 51-year-old Sham Visa's protagonist character in the series, stated that such an effort made by producer Suhan Movies & Trading should be supported amid the current trend of hiring 20-something actors to play mature roles.

"I believe that in the era of OTT platform, this kind of drama still has its audience. A lot of the more mature audiences want something that stars more experienced actors," he said.

Fahrin is also happy to be able to play an antagonist for a change.

"The reason why I rarely played a villain was not because I was choosy, but that a lot of fans asked me not to do it. I am always up to trying new things, but was always given other characters instead," he said.

"Selamanya Suri Cinta" stars Siti Nordiana as Wanda, a successful woman who has to resign from her job to care for her youngest son after the boy is diagnosed with haemophilia.
