Fahmi Fadzil wants MCMC to investigate Aliff Syukri's MV

4 Apr – Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil is ordering the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to take action against controversial businessman, Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri if necessary, following the backlash against his recent music video.

Speaking about the issue recently, Fahmi, who has been notified about the recently deleted music video for Aliff Syukri's Eid song, "Love Raya" that he previously shared, stated that he has seen some of the clips from the music video on social media, and was tagged by many netizens who wanted the government to take strict action.

"I was informed that the music video has been deleted. But I have asked MCMC to investigate and take appropriate action. If there is a need to investigate, MCMC can do so," he said.

At the same time, Fahmi also advises any content creator to examine their content carefully before publishing it to the general public, especially something that can be seen by children.

"We as the government are worried that this kind of content can have negative effect, especially on children. We will also hold meetings to decide on ensuring a safe space on social media," he said.

Aliff was slammed by many after sharing the music video of his new Eid song in the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, not only for not respecting the period, but also due to the lewd content that include male dancers doing erotic dance moves in tight clothes.

Even Aliff's mother and entrepreneur, Rozita Ibrahim aka Bonda Rozita took to social media to scold her son, prompting Aliff to take down the said music video. There are now calls to boycott the entrepreneur's business, after many slammed the businessman for being a repeat offender, after having done multiple gimmicks that are deemed cheap publicity by netizens.
