Eye clinic apologises to Elaine Yiu over recent ad
23 Mar – An ophthalmology clinic recently had to apologise to TVB actress Elaine Yiu, after having already used her image as a way to promote its service.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the backlash against the said clinic sparked recently after it released a promotional poster bearing a pixelated image of a woman, which netizens immediately recognised to be Elaine's character Mandy Tong from the 2008 drama, "Last One Standing".
Following the criticism, the said clinic immediately uploaded an apology statement, stating that they have personally apologised to Elaine.
It stated, "For the inappropriate use of Ms Elaine Yiu's photo and the wordings used in the earlier post, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and the impact on the public."
"We have contacted Ms Elaine Yiu and expressed our deepest apologies and Ms Yiu has accepted our apology."
The previous post has also been deleted.
