First there was Hello Kitty, now we have Gudetama. Taiwanese airline EVA Air and Sanrio have once again collaborated on a Sanrio-themed airplane, this time focusing on the popular “lazy egg”, better known as Gudetama.

Travellers can fly in Gudetama-themed comfort on board EVA Air’s daily flights between Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. From pillows and cutlery to playing cards, passengers will be greeted by the friendly egg-yolk character at every turn, even on the flight attendants’ aprons.

For Singapore travellers who would like to hop on the Gudetama experience, you can do so by flying to Taipei, before boarding the Gudetama-themed connecting flight to Tokyo.

Passengers flying between 24 Nov and 14 Dec can also take advantage of special promotions.

EVA Air is having discounts for flights from Singapore to Taipei on-board their Hello Kitty-themed airplane from just $520 for a round trip. It is also offering $25 off every return Taipei-Tokyo Narita flight booked within the promotion period if you use the promo code “gudetama”.

“Since EVA and Sanrio launched our first generation of Hello Kitty Jets in 2005, our specially painted aircrafts have been popular among our passengers all over the world,” EVA Air President Derek Chen said.

There will also be Gudetama-themed duty-free goods such as the model aircraft and travel kit that passengers can purchase.
