Erin Napier Has a New Favorite Color and We’re Honestly SHOCKED

A pop of color is the one of the most powerful tools in your decorating arsenal. Don’t believe us? Just ask Erin Napier. In the latest season of Home Town Takeover, she and husband Ben are on a mission to revive Sebring, Florida—one small business at a time. During the season premiere, Erin transformed the town’s local soda shop into a sweet space filled with cheery light blues and greens. According to the HGTV star, that palette is poised to have a very colorful future.
“People are so tired of gray, gray, gray,” Erin says in an exclusive interview with House Beautiful. “We’re all craving this return to cozy spaces, to rich texture, to color, to wood grain. That’s kind of where we’ve always been, so I’m excited to see the rest of the world coming around to it again.”
When asked about her favorite paint color, Erin says Valspar Brown Buzz is a consistent crowd-pleaser. “It is not brown at all,” she says. “It’s great: It’s blue, it’s cream, it’s green…it’s a million colors. I think it works in so many applications.”
If you prefer something more dramatic, Erin also said she likes aubergine—and even teases that she uses the moody shade in an upcoming episode of Home Town Takeover. “One of our homeowners loves like these deep, maroon purples,” she says. “That’s not a color that most people call us to paint with, and so it was really exciting to get use something unusual.”

However, when we asked Ben, he was quick to say his wife loves “all of them.” We mean, he does have a point: There’s never one shade that fits all homes and styles, so why not embrace all the colors of the rainbow?
